Dr. Jack Hyles, 1926 - 2001
Founder
Dr. Hyles was Pastor of First Baptist Church from August, 1959 to February, 2001. For many years, the church has been acclaimed to have the "World's Largest Sunday School." In September of 1978, Pastor Jack Hyles and the people of First Baptist Church saw their dream of a Christian school for their bus kids become a reality when the doors of City Baptist Schools opened for the first students.

Dr. Jack Schaap
Superintendent of Schools
In March of 2001, Dr. Jack Schaap became Superintendent of City Baptist Schools. Since then, City Baptist has moved its faculties to a 13 acre campus with a 136,000 square foot building. If Dr. Schaap’s life had to be summed up in just one statement, it would be: Dr. Jack Schaap is a man who has a passion for God.
