Deaf School
The City Baptist Deaf School is for deaf and hard-of-hearing students who attend the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana. We provide a Christian education to approximately 10 students first grade through high school.
The students have equal access to all aspects of education via highly qualified educators instructing in A.S.L. by native, and near native-like users. We have self-contained classes while mainstreamed classes are also avaiable in subjects as: computers, woodshop, cooking, sewing, and physical education. Students are able to participate in the City Baptist athletic program.

While most private schools have closed their doors to the deaf and hard-of-hearing, City Baptist welcomes them with open arms. We utilize the bilingual and bicultural approach to the education of deaf and hard-of-hearing students. The teacher/student ratio is 1:4.
